Oh how I’ve missed really good ramen, which is not easy to find unless you’re closer to Seattle.  I’ve been on the hunt if there is one hiding up in our neck of the woods then someone needs to share this information! 🙂

A family member told me about this place and I just had to check it out.  Similar to Ajisen Ramen in Guam where I had it many times whenever I had a major craving…sigh.  My absolute favorite was the Paiku Ramen (Ajisen both topped with slowly braised succulent pork ribs, crisp kikurage wood ear mushrooms, soy egg and lightly garnished with scallions) I believe they can also be found in Japan and some places in California.

If you’ve never had Japanese Ramen then this is a must! First thing you need to know is that it’s so very different from Vietnamese Pho or Chinese Wonton Soups.   So if there is one in your area check them out.

  1. Hi! I noticed that you are going to the IFBC here in Seattle, so I just wanted to say howdy, neighbor! Thanks for the link to the ramen place in Guam. I grew up there, so I go back to visit frequently and I’ll be sure to check it out! Have you been to Ramen Man on 45th? I think it’s pretty good there, plus you get hard boiled eggs on the side included with every bowl. I just made chicken karaage again for my last post.

    • Hafa Adai!
You’re welcome! When you go back and haven’t been to these other places check out Pika’s Cafe and Amista too. I do LOVE me some good ramen so thanks bunches for the info! I’ll have to check out the Ramen Man soon. Will you be attending the IFBC this year? If so, hope to see you there. 🙂

      • So, are you Chamorro? I’m Filipino myself. Cool! Yes, I’m going to the ifbc. I’m not going back to Guam until next year. But time flies, so they say…

      • Yes, I’m Chamorro 🙂 That’s so awesome! Looking forward to meeting you. I actually moved back here December 2012 and haven’t been back to Guam since…hopefully next year. But I agree time does fly! Hope you’re enjoying the weekend.
