Last weekend was spent checking out a couple of restaurants and a way to celebrate my birthday…Food Adventures are always the best for me! I’m in my HAPPY place! Thanks to my sister for indulging me on my passion for food and photography! LOVE YOU SISTER! If you eat me with then you know you’ll end up having to wait a minute or 2 maybe 5 (HaHa!) before you can dig in. I MUST, MUST take a photo first before eating can commence.
So Saturday (March 15th) my sister, bff and myself went to Restaurant Roux in Fremont for brunch. I’d been looking over the menu for weeks. We ordered the Fried Chicken & Waffles served with a side of Ham Hock Maple Jus (GASP!) Trust me it’s good! Also a side of grits, andouille sausage, eggs, collard greens and of course beignets covered in powered sugar.
Sunday (March 16th) my sister and brother-in-law took me to Kickin’ Boots Whiskey Kitchen in Ballard. Boy was it worth it!! I was not disappointed at all. The food was delicious! Loved the bottles of sauce that they have at every table. Their fried green tomatoes were delicious we left nothing behind not a single crumb. Then for our entrée we had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Cobb and Smoke Master Platter with baked beans, garlic mash and texas toast. We had so much meat leftover which was good for lunch the next day! To end the evening we shared a slice of chocolate pecan pie which was amazing! I wanted more! 🙂
If you love Cajun/Creole Cuisine check out Roux and for all you meat lovers Kickin’ Boots Whiskey Kitchen for your cravings.
